Stefano Boeri, Architect in Milan

Stefano Boeri, architect and city planner born in Milan, class of ’56.
With architecture in his bloodline (his father is Cini Boeri), Stefano is now a Milan city councillor under mayor Giuliano Pisapia, with a portfolio for culture, fashion, design and responsibility for Expo Milan, which was held in 2015.
He graduated in architecture in Milan and went on to complete a PhD at Venice’s IUAV University in 1989. He directed the architectural review Domus from 2004 to 2007, and has also been director of Abitare. He is a professor of urban planning at Milan’s Polytechnic University and has held various visiting professorships, including one at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Boeri founded Multiplicity, a research agency which studies how cities change.
He was appointed to the advisory committee of architects for the Expo 2015 masterplan, but resigned on September 1, 2010.
Among his most important projects are the RCS – Corriere della Sera headquarters in Milan, 2007, and the conversion of the Ex Military Arsenal on La Maddalena for the 2009 G8 Summit.
