Milan Waterways

navigli navigabili

Milan Waterways is a great alternative for transportation when exploring Milan. A boat trip is always a pleasant way to see a city from a different viewpoint. A boat ride in a metropolis jammed with traffic such as Milan may sound absurd, but it can be done, because Expo is linked to the city by two 20-km waterways.

The first is via the Navigli canals, connecting the city dock at Piazza XXIV Maggio with the Expo through the Parco delle Cave. The other, a ‘land’ route linking places of interest in Milan.

Starting from the dock and passing through the Parco delle Basiliche, the Garibaldi-Repubblica zone (with the Milano Porta Nuova project Città della Moda and the Biblioteca degli Alberi park), Milan’s Monumental Cemetery, the Sforzesco Castle and Sempione Park, the old exhibition area with the CityLife project, and the San Siro zone.
